Video Game Design
Beginning, Middle and an Epic Ending
What do you get when you mash up an intergalactic spelling bee, pinball and intermittent alien raids? Why Super Duper Nova, of course! The galaxy’s foremost educational button masher was once featured on Apple’s App store, in a time not long ago in a galaxy, not too far away. Rumor has it that their were sightings of its return, but is this true? We will see.
iOS Releases
Big Bang Action on Mobile
My original design and experience intent behind this gaming vignette was to release it on the tablet only as I had vision for a particular play pattern involving the portrait viewport and the thumb buttons (via touch) that were the basic control affordances for the game. It wasn’t until later that I soon realized that the game was just as much fun, if not moreso, on the phone.

Website & Digital Event Invitation
Since time was of the essence—and since at the time of the game's development I possessed little in the way of web design and development chops—I opted to create a proper html-static site that was largely informational with a support contact link.
For the event invitation I created a poster design announcing the launch party. Additionally, I also created an animated html version that was one part interactive trivia/scavenger hunt and several parts static HTML. This was blasted through an animated SMS message to my community.
Visual Language
SDN UI
The aesthetic and overall visual language of this game was largely influenced by the things that most inspire my own creative sensibilities; the arcade-game room experience, comic books, sci-fi and neo-futurism.
